How Many Hours Do You Need?
Requirements depend on the license you hold. Use this as a quick reference and confirm your individual licensing record with Utah DOPL.
Contractor License
- 3 hours must be core education
- 3 hours may be core or professional
- At least 3 hours must be live instruction
- Approved live Zoom instruction counts as live
Electrical License
- Up to 2 hours toward a master license
- Up to 6 hours toward a contractor license
- ABC Utah does not provide the full electrical CE requirement
Plumbing License
- Up to 2 hours toward a master license
- Up to 6 hours toward a contractor license
- ABC Utah does not provide the full plumbing CE requirement

For Utah contractors, approved instructor-led live webinars can count as live instruction. Always verify that the specific course is approved for your license before registering.
