ABC Utah courses help construction professionals stay current, protect their licenses, and bring useful knowledge back to the jobsite and office. Our goal is to make renewal education straightforward from registration through completion.
Know Your Requirement
Start with your license type.
Utah's required hours and credit mix differ across contracting, electrical, and plumbing licenses.
Contracting License
- 3 hours must be core education
- 3 hours may be core or professional
- At least 3 hours must be taught live
Electrical License
- 12 hours must be core education
- 4 hours may be core or professional
- Use DOPL's record search to verify completed hours
Plumbing License
- 8 hours must be core education
- 4 hours may be core or professional
- Use DOPL's record search to verify completed hours

Not necessarily. Always review the profession, approved credit type, and number of hours shown in the course description before registering.
Yes. Utah DOPL states that contractors need six approved CE hours and that three hours must be taught live. A live webinar counts as live instruction, so all six hours may be completed through approved, instructor-led Zoom classes. Self-paced online courses are different and do not count as live instruction.
