ABC put on an amazing 25/30Hr per-license course. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to get your contracting or subcontractor license. They were very knowledgeable and wiling to answer any questions that you may have. If they didn't know the answer right off hand they found the answer quickly and help you along.

Hi Louie, thanks for the opportunity to evaluate the course. First of all, I think the 25-hour course has great information and the book is a very helpful resource. However, some little improvements could be done:1. Audio of speakers (broadcasting from other facilities/sites).2. It would be very useful to have printed copies of the material missing on the book. It would have saved me/us a lot of time taking pictures of the material. Sometimes speakers were passing slides very fast. Also, at least in my case, I am still attaching pictures in my emails to myself, then downloading and then pasting them on a Word document. It is energy draining!3. It will be better if/when all the speakers, both on site and other sites, rephrase the questions, so we understand the answers.

Louie was a great instructor. Class setting was nice and enjoyable. Would want an option for online for out of state business and a more formal practice test. But passed my exam and found it very helpful with Louie and ABC. Thanks!

At first I was just intrigued with the class, and then I became confident as we were learning everything and talking and asking questions. I took the test on Friday for the B-100, and passed with flying colors. It was a difficult test for sure, but everything Louie touched base one was vital for taking the test. Lien laws, Insurance, some but not many on licensing, and a bunch about project and contract management. Thank you for helping me succeed in the test!!!

ABC prepared me well to both pass the business law exam and to enter the field as a general contractor. Louie is a truly great teacher and knows the material very well. Class was enjoyable and the test prep 4th day was really fun and competitive. Louie respects the clock and ensured that we didn't have a bunch of wasted time during the 4 days, despite technical difficulties. Also, the guest speakers added a great deal to the education. How our class works

This class is held in person at three convenient locations. Classes run from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If you’re pursuing a General Contractor’s license, you’ll also attend a half-day on Thursday from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  

There are 2 license categories in Utah: Primary (General Contractor) and Specialty (Sub-Contractor)

Pursuing a General Contractor’s license allows you to perform all specialties except plumbing and electrical, This license requires 2 years previous experience and you must pass the Business and Law test. For those aiming for a Specialty (Subcontractor) license, the class is just three days—no test or prior experience needed. 

In a classroom setting, our instructors will present from Sandy and North Salt Lake locations. Depending on which location you choose, some of your material will be taught via a zoom presentation.
